"Gasthof Adler" - a hospitable place with a historical tradition
"Der Wirt zu Frankenheim" is mentioned already in the interest and Gültbuch of the duty Schillingsfürst of 1522 in a local place. An unusual feature of the inn was the so-called "imperial liberty", an asylum place for victims of persecution, at that time. Offender was allowed to feel namely up to the Aburteilung of its case here in the pub as well as on the way to the church or into the bathhouse nearby the Wörnitzquelle (liberty alley) against payment of low charges before an arrest or sure of an act of revenge, detention while awaiting trial in the pub.
The history of the inn was always connected closely with that one of the counts and later prince.
So might from the possession the mediatized prince shaft serve the host only wine; however, all subjects were also obliged for it to hold all celebrations and family celebrations in the inn. Rounds 600 hl of wine 1612 shall alone have been drunk in a happy round.
In the Thirty Years' War the pub, like also a large part of the place, became a robbery of the flames; one set up the "inheriting bar place to franc home" but already 1652 in the same place again.
The "Adler" is in the possession of the family Trumpp since 1959. At the rebuilding of the more than 300 years old building it was successful to connect monument nursing building measures with modern comfort and comfortable hospitality
